INGA selected as MIT SOLVER – Proposal Presented Summer 2017
Director Mike Hands was honored to present in Cambridge in May at MIT’s Climate CoLab initiative (a community of 50,000 people from around the world who work together through a series of interrelated contests focused on different aspects of the climate change problem). Mike detailed his proven research and successful trial farms in the Honduras, and INGA is thrilled to be recognized as a significant way to reduce global emissions while providing food security and cash crops sustainably for families in the tropics–thus stopping rainforest destruction. This bottom up approach protects water sources, habitats, and soil all while providing a model for resilience and species protection. Inga was the only agroforestry solution selected from several hundred carbon-reduction proposals.
